Protecting Planet Earth........
For many centuries humans have lived on planet Earth and being environmentally friendly is the least we can do. Earth must cope with various problems due to the constant change of society and it is unfortunate to say that it is us who has created the troubles. It is important that Earth stays healthy and we can always do our part to protect planet Earth.“We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.” So goes the ancient Native American’s saying, a phrase that we should always keep in mind. Despite being uttered more than about a century ago, these words still ring true and have become even more relevant in this day and age. The future and sustainability of the Earth is firmly in our hands and it is our actions of today that determines the world our children live in tomorrow.
Our actions can and has affected our planet Earth tremendously. Global warming for example, is an example of “Local actions, global effects”. When one starts a car or burn wood, the last thought on their mind is the consequences of these actions. It is unfortunate that the daily dangers to earth are not widely known or perhaps they are being ignored. The fact is that Earth is dying and although there is no clear-cut solution to all the problems that face Earth but it is obvious that everyone has to play a part in conservation methods.
There are many ways and methods to help Earth while being able to benefit ourselves at the same time. For example, going to bed earlier not only helps to improve your health but decreasing the amount of global warming. Keep in mind that the extra time staying up requires electricity and these usually come from burning coals or natural gas which will result in global warming. Cycling instead of driving is another great way of conserving Earth. It not only provides us exercise but helps to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, which is a type of greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming.
